Please tell us briefly about your role in the company / at your organization:

Prepare for and promote the Bebras Challenge. Design fun and motivating computer science tasks and develop teaching materials for computer science classes.

Your interest in STEM

Even as a young girl, I had the attitude that if my two older brothers could do it, so could I. I was fascinated by technology and wasn’t afraid to get involved with it. After completing my teacher training, I worked in the profession for two years. However, moving to Germany meant that I was unable to continue working as a teacher. I got a job as a technical writer at a gate manufacturing company. There, my graphic design skills merged with my love of technology and my pedagogical knowledge. I discovered my passion for preparing technical (and later computer science) knowledge and making it accessible to target groups.

My father, who encouraged my interests and urged me to tackle things without fear of making mistakes.
My mother, who repaired kitchen appliances, plumbing fixtures, and clothes as a matter of course.

Your studies

My studies and training were not particularly challenging. What was much more challenging was inspiring children, focusing on being a role model for them without being pretentious, and gaining their recognition and respect.

Don’t become teacher, because you don’t know better. Be courageous and follow your dreams and interest.

You at work

I am delighted to have a job that matches my passion. It always gives me pleasure to connect people and countries and promote their gifts and abilities.

Your point of view

Be yourself, be authentic, committed, and approachable. Even if some people interpret this as weakness, it will lead you to the right place: to people who appreciate you as a person and recognize and encourage your abilities

To finish with

Openness and honesty form the basis of cooperation.
Good work and content are more important than praise and recognition.
While bending over backwards may be successful in the short term, authenticity is what will get you seen, valued and promoted as an individual.

Finding a healthy balance between work and leisure time is a major challenge. Setting the right priorities and not losing focus.

I don’t have any big plans for my future—I’ll be very happy if I’m still working for Bebras in 2030.
